Dorthy Ray is a New Orleans based artist working as a freelance photographer and visual instructor for Future’s Fund, a program offering training in the arts to middle through high school students. After studying in both the art and psychology programs at LSU, she moved to New Orleans to further develop techniques in painting and photography. Using digital photography and mixed media, her work challenges the viewer to explore the ambiguities of identity, gender, and sexuality as they relate to the Black body and experience. You can find more of her work at her personal website, www.ofcseli.com, or on Instagram @dorthyray.
