The Edge of a Conversation by Emily M. Troia

1. I could have
gone over.
We could have
both gone over
the balcony
and died.

2. I asked
for my money
back. I haven’t
received
anything
yet.

Emily-100x100 Jumping from physics to philosophy to art as an undergraduate, Emily M. Troia’s brain got a little addled from so many facts, theories, and images. Years later, she is still trying to make sense of it all. Her poems are the driftwood miscellany that wash up on the shore of her sloshing mind. She is currently pursuing her MFA in Poetry in the Northeast Ohio MFA (NEOMFA) Program and works at the Cleveland State University Poetry Center. She resides in Cleveland, Ohio.
