Tara Wood was born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama, where, contrary to popular belief, there are more rocket scientists than outhouses. She has very strong opinions about coffee, politics, and the color of words, and she once successfully argued her way into graduate school by comparing genetics to linguistics. She spends what little time she has outside of the lab hiking, knitting, cooking, dabbling in very dead languages, and serving as her two cats’ favorite cushion—and, of course, writing.
Tara has degrees in biology and epidemiology, and currently works in neuroscience research studying Huntington’s Disease. She would very much prefer if you didn’t give her mice any big ideas—they cause enough trouble on their own.
